The terra cotta clay is fired with a non-porous, durable glaze, making the surfaces easy to keep clean from algae and water deposits. Included is a quiet, powerful adjustable-flow water pump with a 1-year warranty. The water continuously circulates through the fountain, flowing up through the top, and cascading down the tiers, into the pool of water in the ceramic basin. This picture above shows the fountain and flower planter without any flowers in it. The water flows only within the 3 tiers and the water basin of the fountain itself, not into the large flower planter. Notice that the planter has lots of space for soil, plants and flowers. It also has a hole for water drainage. In addition, the moisture coming from the fountain can help to keep the flowers and plants moist in the planter.
Being a hand crafted ceramic fountain (made to order), the ceramic textures and color glazes can vary from fountain to fountain. However, your fountain will still be beautiful.
