It is a food-grade enzyme that's non-toxic, biodegradable, bacteria free, and 100% environmentally friendly. This product works on a variety of fountain materials. It is safe for all surfaces of fountains. Your also don't have to worry about it hurting wildlife, aquatic life, or your pets, when used as directed. Small Fountain Protector prevents; sludge, ammonia, cloudy water and mineral deposits from forming and keeps fountain pumps and water lines free from organic buildup for maximum efficiency. I found the fountain easy to install with a good set of instructions and video cd which I was not expecting. The mounting bracket was slightly different than what the instructions called for but easily assembled. The quality of the fountain was what I expected and we have enjoyed it's Continous operation for about a week with no problems. The only problem I had in the whole process is the warehouse failed to timely provide for shipping information. I had to call only to find out it was being delivered that same day by fedex which I missed by 5 minutes. I had to call and ask them to take the signature off the delivery because I couldn't take more time off from work and fedex nearest office drop site was 60 miles away and no weekend delivery Overall I would recommend this company and their product but coordination of delivery needs improvement in my particular case. All other venders I've delt with on the Internet have been much more communicative in the status of your order
