How so solar fountains work?
There is a solar panel included that you will place outside your fountain.  (The solar panel in the birdbath's are located at the top of the birdbath (built in).  A cord will connect from your fountain to your solar panel.  When the sun hits the solar panel it powers the water pump and allows the water to flow. Because solar panels do not store energy the solar powered fountain will only work when the sun is out.

Is the Solar Panel a separate unit?
The tiered solar fountains have a solar panel that can go up to 15 feet away from the fountain itself.  The solar panel hooks up to the pump inside the fountain and is placed away from the fountain where there is optimal sun exposure.  Your solar panel will have several placement options, mount it, use the stake provided to place it in the grass or your landscaping, use the included mounting system to stand it on a hard surface.  The solar birdbaths have a solar panel built in the top of the fountain so the sun can directly hit it and make the water flow. 

How do I keep debris out of my solar fountain's pump?
There is actually a small piece of sponge/foam covering the fountain pump so debris can not get in and damage the pump. It is still important that you clean debris from your fountain regularly.

Will my solar water fountain work indoors?
There is an AC Adaptor included with the tiered solar fountains allowing them to be used indoors as well.  The AC Adaptor is approved only for indoor use so should only be used in an indoor outlet or on a covered porch.

Will my solar fountain work on a cloudy day?
You will find that depending on how bright it is outside your solar fountain may work.  It will flow the strongest on a sunny day but may work on a brighter cloudy day, just not as strong.  The solar panel does not store energy so your solar fountain will not work at night.

Can I use my solar fountain during the winter?
You can use your solar powered fountain in the winter provided it is not below freezing.  Not only could freezing weather and snow damage the solar panel, it could cause the bowls of the fountain to crack.  Bring your solar fountain indoors for the winter to enjoy if you have an AC Adaptor or store it in warm place.

What are the benefits of a solar fountain if I can't enjoy it everyday?
The main benefit of a solar powered fountain is that there is no need for an electrical supply, providing the flexibility to place it anywhere.  Solar fountains are also environmentally friendly and is very safe as there are no cords.  Solar fountains are also virtually maintenance free as long as you keep enough water in them.
